Reykjanes
Acrylics on Canvas
80 x 120 cm / 2021
Collaboration with Petter Foshaug, Norway
Reykjanes depicts the Meradalir volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, capturing the raw power of geological transformation as new land emerges from molten earth. While grounded in a specific landscape and natural process, the painting also serves as a metaphor for renewal. New beginnings often arise from periods of darkness, weight, and even pain. Reykjanes honors the generative potential within such experiences – a celebration of the darkness that carries the seed of light. It is, at its core, a reflection on hope.
